I'm writing this because you asked me to, Ben. It isn't going to help you to understand. There's no such thing as a happy prophet, and as time goes on, you'll figure that out too. People are happier with their fantasies and Milton-esque dramas. I've looked at a few webchapters and tried to write it in that form. I've split it into sections that you can choose to read as you need them.

It is an incredible waste of time, but tonight is a quiet before a coming storm-- a bad time to be out on the streets. I might as well do something with this computer, just in case the warnings are accurate and it, and with the rest of my possessions, are not long for this world.
